Volunteer Opportunities

We always have a project going on, but they may vary:
  1. Rebuilding a salvaged barn. We've decided where it will go. Now we have to rebuild it.
  2. Land stewardship. This will include removing old trash from the woods, mulching the vegetable garden, removing barbed wire, and fence survey and repair. We are also restoring our woods by thinning out some species so that more oaks can grow back, and restoring quail habitat on 6 acres of unused pasture.
  3. Building a small green house from salvaged windows.
  4. Finishing the inside of a small guest cottage.

We have smaller on-going (daily life) projects:
  1. Garden: Seed starting, seedling care, weeding.
  2. Animals: feeding and watering the chickens, pigs, and alpacas; checking for eggs.
  3. Land Stewardship: identifying the existing plants on the farm property.

There will be more projects in the future! These will include planting in the orchard, building creek footbridges, creating/maintaining a native vegetation buffer planting along the creek, water quality control in the ponds, building a chapel/meditation gazebo, and building a trail.

If you or a group of friends would like to volunteer on one of these projects, please send an email to hello[at]sanctuaryfarm.org to request your date(s). Please note: a donation of $25 is requested to reserve your spot for an individual volunteer; a donation of $100 is requested to reserve a spot for a group. This helps us solidify the calendar so that dates are available for other volunteers.
