felted dryer ball trio

$16.00

FELTED DRYER BALL TRIO

This is for a set of three handmade felted dryer balls, made from alpaca fiber on our farm from our herd of rescue alpacas. They are approximately 2 oz each for a total of about 6 oz.

They come in various natural colors: beige, dark brown-grey, brown, and fawn. Yours will be a random selection of the colors we have on hand.

When our alpacas are sheared to get them through the summer heat, we turn the soft fluff into yarn. Fiber from their stomachs and legs isn’t soft enough to be yarn, so we use it to make dryer balls. :)

We use these dryer balls in our own laundry! Toss all three in the dryer and set it to “auto”. They will bounce around and soften the laundry without synthetic chemicals. If you don’t over-dry, they also reduce static (that’s why we use the auto dry setting). Some people put a drop of essential oil on one, for fragrance—just be careful to not use too much and don’t use something flammable.

If they loosen up over time you can toss them in a load of hot wash (like rags) and then back in the dryer. Our personal set has lasted over 6 years.

If you have a dog or cat, they may try to snatch these out of the dryer as toys. See our felted dog toy listing for “failed” dryer balls that your pup can destroy as much as it pleases! :)

Handwoven handspun wool scarf

$80.00

Handwoven Handspun Rustic Wool Scarf

I spun the yarn for this scarf from Kraermer Mauch Chunky Roving (the colorful ply) and from undyed wool from another Arkansas farm. (I was told it was Cheviot but I don’t think that’s correct, because my understanding is Cheviot is only white. I think it’s maybe Finn or Shetland.) Yarn is two-ply bulky.

Scarf width: 7”

Scarf length: 4’ plus fringe (about 5’ total)

It wraps once around my neck very nicely.

Soft, will be very warm in winter, and one of a kind. :)

Care: Hand wash cool, squeeze (but do not wring!) in a clean towel, lay flat to dry. I like SOAK or Unicorn wool cleaners.

Made in a pet-friendly, smoke-free home.

Stuffed with sheep wool or alpaca fleece

Handmade Cat Toys (Stuffed with sheep wool or alpaca)

Hand-knit cat toys stuffed with fleece sheared from our rescue alpacas, and sometimes scrap wool. The alpacas are sheared every year so that they can make it through the summer heat without all that fluff. We use some of the fiber to make yarn, but some of the fiber isn't soft enough to become yarn...so we use it to make dryer balls or to stuff these small cat toys.

Each toy is different! Photos are representative of toys we have made. Your toy is at sellers choice, and may be a different color or pattern than those pictured.

Approximate dimensions are 1.5" wide, 1" thick, and about 2.5" long. Each toy weighs about 1/2 ounce or a little more, the perfect size to pounce on.
